HOW TO KEEP FLIES UNDER CONTROL

Flies buzzing around your house are not only a nuisance and an unwelcome sight, but flies also pose a serious health risk and are linked to the spread of diseases such as typhoid fever, diarrhoea, food poisoning and dysentery. It is vitally important to control them!     

Flies commonly found in and around our homes are the housefly and blow flies.  During summer, fly populations tend to skyrocket.  One way of controlling flies is by eliminating their breeding grounds.  Flies lay eggs in places such as garbage areas, animal kennels, stables, manure heaps and many more.  Cleaning these areas could assist with fly control, however, in most cases you will need the assistance of pesticides or fly traps to get rid of these pesky pests. 

Protek recently launched Flyzone fly traps and bait for domestic and agricultural use.  It contains a non-toxic, organic protein bait which is safe to use, and the plastic bags are UV protected to ensure a longer lifespan. 

The attractant dissolves and is activated when water is added to the bag. Lured by the scent, flies enter the trap through the top cap and drown in the water.
