At Garden World, we offer children two educational outings - General Farming and Growing Plants.

These programmes are very popular as the 'hands-on' experience on the farm provides a wonderful learning curve for children.

We present facets of agriculture according to the age and development of the child. Great fun is had whilst gaining education. All the programmes are supervised and provide a learning experience where the children gain knowledge of plant and animal lore.

Give your children the magic of touching, loving and feeding tame farm animals. A truly fascinating experience for toddlers, pre-primary and primary school children. School, Scout, Sunday School and all other groups are most welcome.

PROGRAMME 1 – GENERAL FARMING (ANIMALS AND PRODUCE)
All activities can be presented in English or Afrikaans

Children are welcomed by the Lecturer

.:

An educational lecture on farming, (general farming, animal farming and produce), and lectures on specific animals, eg. goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs etc. (subject to be confirmed with teacher beforehand)

A visit to the aviary

.:

Lunch Break: Own lunch box may be brought along
Refreshments are provided to educators, compliments of Garden World

Tour through farm where we meet and feed the animals

Cost per child: R22.00
No cost to educators

PROGRAMME 2 – GROWING PLANTS
All activities can be presented in English or Afrikaans

Children are welcomed by Garden World’s General Manager

An educational lecture on Plants including the following:

ˇ Reasons for growing plants
ˇ What to keep in mind when growing plants - starting your own garden
ˇ Discussing plants
ˇ Discussing propagation

Lunch break – own lunch box may be brought along
Refreshments are provided to educators, compliments of Garden World

Visit the Greenhouse & Farm Area
The following activities can be exercised (educators to confirm which ones)

ˇ Discussing entrepreneurship – wholesale and retail outlets etc.
ˇ Children to plant seeds / flowers in a pot to take home
ˇ Tour through animal farm where we meet and feed the animals

Cost per child: R27.00
No cost to educators
